St. Herman Joseph Pendant

A devotional pendant commissioned by the Norbertine Canonesses in honor of St. Herman Joseph, a 13th-century German Norbertine priest who was mystically espoused to the Blessed Virgin Mary, from whom he received the name “Joseph.” St. Herman Joseph is known for his great devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Sacred Heart, in whose honor he composed poems and hymns. He displayed gifts of mystical prayer from an early age, and afterward gained renown for his preaching during his long life. Oxidized metal; 1″ x 3/4″.
